The abysmal weather continues to play havoc with the start of the cricket season, as it’s latest impact is to delay Ben Gibbons start as Second XI captain.
The home fixture which was scheduled today against Nacton has been cancelled due to the weather. Both sides will be awarded six points each.
The venue for the fixture was reversed in midweek, with Drapers being unplayable but despite the best efforts of the ground staff at Nacton, their pitch is also unplayable.
Gibbo’s reign as Second XI Skipper will now get under way next week, when the 2s make an 80-mile round trip to Brockley to take on their First eleven.
