Maldon vs Great Baddow
Maldon won the toss and elected to bat, posting a competitive total of 124 runs on the board after a confident batting display. The innings got off to a strong start with quick scoring, plenty of singles, and excellent running between the wickets, keeping the scoreboard ticking throughout.
Top contributions came from Olly H with 16, Dylan G with an impressive 26, Bradley S adding 17, and Zach S finishing unbeaten on 24 not out. William G scored 1, while JJ F remained 1 not out at the close of the innings.
At the changeover, Great Baddow faced a strong Maldon bowling attack, with early wickets putting the opposition under pressure from the start. Sam M and Barney D both claimed a wicket, while Zach S continued his excellent all-round performance with 2 wickets. Tight fielding also played a huge part, producing two run outs through sharp awareness and quick reactions in the field.
A key moment came after the wicketkeeping change, with William H making a major impact by taking 3 wickets in an excellent spell to help seal a strong team performance for Maldon.
Maldon went on to win the match by 43 runs in a fantastic all-round team performance. Well done team!
