About The Dons

Maldon Cricket Club was formed in 1976 following the merging of Maldon Strollers CC and Old Maldonians CC. Since this point, the club has gone from strength to strength and has built an excellent reputation throughout Essex and Suffolk.

The club’s first team has been a regular member of the upper echelons of the Two Counties League ever since, broken by a five year stint in the East Anglian Premier League. This culminated in the club finishing second in the EAPL in 2003, a notable achievement for a club of our size.

Our time in the EAPL saw the club bring through many young players from our own colt’s system. One of those, Sir Alastair Cook, has gone on to achieve many things within the game, being England’s all time leading Test Match run scorer and century maker as well as the fifth highest Test run-scorer of all time. He is still connected with the club and is also Patron of the David Randall Foundation whose spiritual home is encompassed within Maldon Cricket Club.

On the pitch, the club runs fifteen teams; four men’s, two ladies and nine colts.

We are a friendly club who welcome new playing and non-playing members at any time.
