Maldon 1st XI captain Toby Pugh has chosen not to stand for the role again this year. The club would like to thank Toby for his efforts of the past seasons as captain.
Toby took over the captaincy in 2020 following Chris Harris’ decision to step down. Toby immediately had to deal with the challenges presented by the Covid pandemic. Throughout this difficult time, Toby did a superb job in maintaining team spirit, while working across the club to support the development of young players including Mackenzie Jones, Angus Beames, Fin Jones, Henry Miller, Ollie Hull and Alex Strong.
These efforts were recognised when Toby was made Clubman of the Year for 2022. We looking forward to seeing Badger back in the ranks this year, and eager to add to his 525 wickets for the club.
