Captain Changes!

At tonight’s AGM, last years 2nd and 3rd XI and Ladies captains, Liam Saxton, Andy Phipps and Jess Walton are all standing down from their positions.

All have sacrificed enormous amounts of time and energy in their roles. Liam (pictured left) took over the 2nd XI captaincy in 2019, guiding them to promotion from Division 5 in 2021. Last year, he guided them to 8th in Division 4.

Andy (pictured right) began his 3rd XI captaincy in 2020, winning the Covid mini league in his first year in charge. In 2021, he led the side to 3rd in Division 8 and promotion. A challenging 2022 saw the side relegated; however, Andy led by example with both bat and ball.

Jess started as ladies captain in 2020, and has driven a rapid improvement and growth in our ladies section. New players have joined and thrived under her guidance.

We thank all three of them for their efforts, and wish them all the best for the 2023 season.
