2023 Captains

The 2023 season sees new captain across the board for the club.

Steve Brown (L), Ross Walpole (R)

The 1st XI will be led by Ross Walpole, who replaces Toby Pugh. Ross was the 2022 Player of the Year, and his drive and determination will be key as we aim to return to Division 1. Ross’ vice captain will be 2022’s Batter of the Year Max Bryant. Ross is pictured with Chairman, Steve Brown.

Ben Gibbons takes charge of the 2nd XI, having previously deputised of many occasions. The middle order batsman will work alongside James Ellis as we look to build on the foundations former captain Liam Saxton laid over the past three seasons.

Joe Figg will be busy in 2023, becoming 3rd XI captain after having captained the 4ths for several seasons. Figg will balance his roles as Vice Chairman with captaincy.

Elsewhere, Bethan Bailey takes the reins for the ladies side, replacing Jess Walton this summer. Bethan’s canny bowling will be a key weapon for the side as we look to continue to develop our players this summers.

Jas Bains will continue to captain the Sunday XI, while Lee Monk captains the midweek side who compete in the Geoff Newman Trophy.
