Obituary – Paul Jackson

The club was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Paul Jackson on Friday.

Paul, a long time member and groundsman at our local friends Little Baddow, played for Maldon in 2005 and 2006. Paul scored 658 runs for the club at an average of 31.33, with six fifties. His unbeaten 87 against Elmstead Market was his highest score for the club.

Paul’s greatest value though was through his kind nature and generous spirit. He supported young players making their way into mens cricket and was hugely respected by his teammates and club members.

Chairman Steve Brown said, “Paul was a tremendous man who loved cricket. The players who played with Paul have many fond memories of him, and he is still often talked about by those who played with him. Our thoughts are with Paul’s family and friends at this sad time.”
