2022 – Statistical Milestones

By Stuart Coker.

As we are now less than a month away from the start of the summer.  There are plenty of statistical milestones that can happen in 2022.

Elmo needs 758 runs for 30,000 runs for his career.  Elmo is more than 5,000 runs ahead of the club second place run scores in Martyn White who is the only other member of the 20,000 run club.

Elsewhere, Martyn Coker needs 69 runs to join the 8,000 run club.

The Race to 5,000 runs

There is an interesting race to 5,000 runs with the contenders being Mike Newman (4,763), Max Bryant (4,631), Steve Brown (4,574) and Ross Walpole (4,394).

Bowling

Jack Riley starts the season on 576 wickets hoping to overtake Paul Bardo on 582 wickets and join the top ten wicket takers and if the Tollesburian has a good summer the 600 club.

Toby Pugh joined the 500 wicket club at Worlington on the final day of last summer.  Toby now needs 6 wickets to overtake long time club Secretary Rick Cooper.

Another person to leapfrog up the wicket leader board is Matt Wild who is currently on 126 wickets.  There are 10 ex Don’s who finished in the 130 wicket club including Reece O Connell, Paul Head, Dave Morris and Barry Denham.

There is also a number of bowlers threatening the 100 club including Reece Bawden (98), Matt Anderson (90) and our leading wicket taker for the past two summers Dave Blackboro (89).

There are a number of players nearing game landmarks as well.   Ben Gibbons first game of the summer will be his 200th game for the club.
