Following the updated ECB guidelines released last week, ahead of the easing of restrictions on Monday 17 May 2021, the Maldon Cricket Club Committee met on Wednesday 19 May 2021 to discuss what it means for our fixtures moving forward.
The Committee have considered a number of options, but have made the difficult decision that Teas will not be provided by the club for home fixtures during the 2021 season, however the facilities to make a hot drink will be made available. For home fixtures, players will still be expected to bring their own food. Away fixtures will be at the discretion of the respective home team and our Captains will communicate to those players who have been selected in advance what the arrangements are for each individual fixture.
We can also confirm that for home fixtures, the changing rooms will be open, however will operate under Covid restrictions with a limited number of players permitted in the changing room at any one time. Showers however, will not be permitted at this time.
With the Covid restrictions changing regularly, the Committee will endeavour to keep it’s members updated with relevant changes as and when required.
