Manager:
Welcome to the U14s Cricket Team!
As manager of our Under-14s cricket team, I’m proud to lead a group of dedicated young players who are growing their skills and understanding of the game any week. Competing in a tough and talented division, our focus is on learning the fundamentals of cricket, building confidence, and helping each player feel motivated to contribute to the success of the team.
We’ve been seeing real progress in training sessions – with noticeable improvement in batting, bowling and fielding as players put in the effort to master the finer points of the game. It takes patience and persistence to learn challenging new skills, and this team is showing exactly that.
We believe that when every individual gives their best, the whole team benefits – and that’s the spirit we bring to each session and match day.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the parents and families for your ongoing support. From early morning lifts to cheering from the sidelines, your involvement makes a real difference.
See you at the crease!

Today’s under 14 game against Brentwood was a close run affair with Brentwood unfortunately coming out on top in the end. There was some excellent batting from Maldon including a few large 6s resulting in a pretty decent total. Maldon pushed Brentwood hard in the field but in the end they made it over the line with 2.5 overs to go. It was a good game to watch with some entertaining cricket. Next time we hope to be on the winning side.

Another close and exciting game but this time Maldon were the victors. A fairly tight bowling and fielding performance with a couple of great catches from Alfie and Ollie left the hosts at 142, a decent total. Maldon started positively and a really good partnership developed between Jake (21) and Hector (ret 50) with plenty of boundaries to keep the crowd ducking. This left Maldon around 40 short of the target. Determined batting followed with Noah and Ollie continuing the good work culminating in captain Ollie smashing the final four to complete a great team performance. All played in a way that meant cricket was the winner.
