The Maldon Cricket Club’s Hall of Fame stands as a tribute to the players, leaders, and supporters who have left a lasting mark on the club’s proud history. Each inductee represents not only individual excellence on the field but also the spirit of dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship that defines Maldon Cricket Club.

From record-breaking performances to years of quiet service behind the scenes, these figures have shaped the story of cricket in our community. Their achievements inspire today’s players and remind future generations of the values that have guided the club since its earliest days.

Colin Philpott MBE

Founding Member

Served on the committee for over 40 years.
Club President for 11 years.
Club Chairman for 23 years.
A true opening batsman, Colin scored 18,999 runs with the bat – placing him 3rd in the club’s all-time records.
His leadership and tireless work on and off the field have been vital to the development and success of Maldon Cricket Club.

John Hill

Founding Member

Long-standing committee member.
Current Club President (8 years).
Club Captain for 9 years.
As a wicket-keeper and captain of the Sunday team, John not only contributed with the bat – scoring 4,220 runs (39th in club records) – but also played a key role in mentoring young players, instilling the right etiquette of cricket and encouraging many to take up umpiring.

Keith Bannister



Keith started Friday nights at Drapers for youngsters, and worked hard in developing talent.
A true mentor.

Still one of the organisers of the Kwik Cricket Festival for primary schools at Drapers each year.
He scored 9,208 runs for Maldon Cricket Club and devoted countless hours to the youth section and primary schools coaching, as well as supporting our overseas players for many years.

The most famous scorecards in Maldon CC history.

10 Wickets for 27 Runs.

Taking  1076 club wickets
A former teammate described him as a Club Captain who “backed you from every angle” and would “give you whatever he could to help you succeed.”
A very good fast-medium swing bowler, sharp with his banter and known for his dry sense of humour — he was a joy to be around.

Recognised for his tireless work in the early days of the Club.

Helping to establish our colts cricket and supporting our overseas players.

Scored over 14,400 runs for Maldon Cricket Club.
He’s another who lives and breathes the Club.
