If you missed the news from last year, or if you’re new around here, Ben Gibbons became the new Chairman of the club, with Alan Coker stepping into the role of Joint Deputy Chair alongside Joe Figg.
This change followed the decision made at the club’s AGM in November 2025. The AGM marked an important moment for the club as it recognised both the contributions of those who have led the club in recent years and the exciting opportunities ahead under new leadership.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Alan Coker for his continued excellence in supporting and running the club during his time as Chairman. His dedication, leadership, and commitment have played a significant role in the club’s growth and success.
Although stepping down from the Chairman role, Alan remains a pivotal member of the club, the community, and the management team. His experience and ongoing support continue to be invaluable as the club moves forward.
As Chairman, Ben Gibbons is focused on continuing to grow the club both on and off the field. A key priority is expanding participation in cricket across Maldon and the surrounding areas, encouraging more families to get involved and making the club an even stronger part of the local community.
By welcoming players of all ages and backgrounds, the club aims to build a thriving cricket environment that supports development across every age group. Strengthening our junior and youth pathways will not only help introduce more people to the game, but will also create opportunities for emerging talent to progress through the club and represent our men’s and women’s teams in the future.
With Ben’s leadership, supported by Joint Deputy Chairs Alan Coker and Joe Figg, the club looks forward to an exciting future of growth, inclusivity, and continued success both on and off the pitch.
A Copy of ‘Chair’s Welcome’
Welcome to Maldon Cricket Club, a proud and well-established club at the heart of the local community. With a strong history in the game, we are committed to competitive cricket while maintaining a friendly, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all.
Young people are at the heart of the club. Our youth pathway focuses on enjoyment, progression, and personal growth, helping players build confidence, character, and a love of the game.
The club has produced players who have reached the highest levels. Sir Alastair Cook remains a source of immense pride, his international career inspiring future generations. We have also nurtured talented players like Mackenzie Jones, and today celebrate Finlay Jones, who has represented his country at Under-19 international level — all reflecting the values that guide Maldon Cricket Club.
Looking ahead, we are focused on building for the future: improving facilities, supporting volunteers, and growing participation across all ages while keeping Maldon a place where everyone feels welcome.
We are grateful to our principal sponsors, TFP Financial Planning, for their support.
Whether as a player, volunteer, supporter, or sponsor, you are warmly welcomed into the Maldon Cricket Club community.
We look forward to seeing you at the club.
Ben Gibbons
Chairman
