Alan Returns To The Chair

Alan Coker has returned to the position of Maldon Cricket Club chairman, following Steve Brown’s decision to step down after five years at the helm.

Alan retakes the reigns having previously held the position a number of years ago. Alan’s return is amongst a number of committee changes, with Ben Gibbons also being appointed as joint vice-chair, alongside Joe Figg who retains his position. Paul Gregory, Max Bryant and Chris Harris have all joined the Dons committee for 2024. Toby Pugh has taken on the role of Junior School Cricket Director for the year ahead, whilst Connah Thompson has been confirmed as Head Coach for the clubs Colts section.

Andrew Barnes has taken over as Club Captain, with David Richardson (DR) stepping back from his committee commitments after 30+ years of service. Steve Dack has also stepped down from his position as a committee member.

Everyone at Drapers Farm would like to pass their thanks on to Steve and David, whilst a special thanks must go to Browny who has steered the Dons through some of the most difficult periods, such as the Covid pandemic.

We look forward to DR and Browny sporting their whites in the summer of 2024 and sure we will see Steve behind the stumps, umpiring at some stage.
