Fourth Team Win Friendly

Maldon 4s Vs Chelmsford Super Kings

On a warm Saturday afternoon at Drapers Farm, Chelmsford Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. Jas Bains and Charlie Figg restricted the scoring superbly in the first ten overs and the pressure built enabled Cameron Blackboro and Joe Figg to work together to run out one of the opening batsman.

After a few boundaries Al Johnson and Dave Richardson ripped through the top and middle order with 5 wickets between them with Al finishing with figures of 4-19.

After another run out, Bethan Bailey with 2 wickets, and Mark Thorn with his first wicket for the club, finished up the innings restricting the Super Kings to 117 runs in 36.1 overs. Bethan, Jas and Al took great catches and the ground fielding from everyone was superb.

Maldon started their reply well with 55 being scored for the first wicket with Cameron Blackboro scoring freely before being well bowled for 35.

Norman Case (21) was also well bowled bringing Matt Shinn to the crease to join skipper Joe Figg. The pair put on 50 runs to ensure Maldon won by 8 wickets inside 30 overs with Shinn scoring 27 and Figg 24.

This was a great game played in excellent spirits.
